Last night the Nelson Riddle Orchestra made the short hop to Monroe Township, NJ for the first in their 2010/11 season hosted by the Monroe Township’s Cultural Commission. The intimate setting brought out over 500 locals to hear the iconic orchestra play some of their favorite swingin hits. With Bryan Anthony swinging those classic Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Nat King Cole hits the audience experienced a rare treat. This was the very first time that we saw Gabrielle Stravelli, from neighboring Monmouth County, working with the orchestra yet it seemed like she was an old hand at singing with such a strong ensemble. Her rendition of the Ella Fitzgerald classics Speak Low and Lorelei brought the house down and we look forward to working with her again in the near future. With Christopher Riddle at the helm and the reed section led by none other than “Blue” Lou Marini of Blues Brothers fame it was sure to be a night to remember… Yes, it is fair to say… THE NELSON RIDDLE ORCHESTRA IS BACK!!!
