Nelson Riddle Orchestra back in Los Angeles

In just a couple of weeks the Nelson Riddle Orchestra will make its return to the West Coast as the featured act in the Los Angeles Jazz Festival’s tribute to Frank Sinatra. The action packed four day event will include tours of Sinatra’s desert home, seminars and discussion panels as well as several performances. Our show on October 23rd (Saturday) will kick off at 7.30pm with Christopher Riddle as chairman of the board. With Gary Williams and Sue Raney as vocalists this is sure to be a concert to remember. The show will be held at the LAX Marriott Hotel, Marquis Ballroom with tickets available at the door or by calling the L.A. Jazz Institute at 562-200-5477

“We were very pleased to be invited back to perform at the L.A. Festival” says Francis Kiernan, manager of the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. “It has been too long since we’ve been out there and we hope that this will be the first of many in the not too distant future. Sue [Raney] is a real lady with an incredible voice and we are thrilled to have her on board. You know, her first album was arranged and produced by Nelson whilst she was at Capitol back in ’58 when the Sinatra/Riddle collaboration was really getting going. So it is particularly special to be playing her original Nelson Riddle charts with the full orchestral force on this Sinatra Celebration”. About Gary he said: “We’ve worked with Gary in several performances in Ireland, he is a very accomplished performer and a true Sinatraphile. It will be great to work with him again.”
