Jan 26, 2010 – This week at the Library of Congress, Washington DC we welcomed a surprise treasure, a trove of original charts written by Nelson for Billy Eckstine in the early 1950′s. The bulk of the material included full orchestration including strings and one portion also involved a 4-part children’s choir. During the coming weeks this material will be indexed and archived. Sorting through the collection we were very pleasantly surprised by the excellent condition and completeness of the sets, which we hope to bring to live audiences in the near future. We will give further details of this historic find following discussions with the parties responsible.
